ELECTRIC PALLET JACK CHARGER

ELECTRIC PALLET JACK CHARGER

ELECTRIC PALLET JACK CHARGER

Product Overview

Purkeys developed the Trailer Auxiliary Power System (TAPS™) to provide 110 VAC power for devices to enable charging while the vehicle is running.

This device converts 12 VDC power to 110 VAC power by using a 1500-watt inverter. It keeps electric pallet jacks charged while on a run. This helps make electric pallet jacks more reliable and helps their batteries last longer.

TAPS is enclosed in a rugged, stainless-steel case and has safety features to protect the truck batteries.

TAPS Benefits

  • Converts DC power to AC power
  • Keeps pallet jacks from losing power
  • Charges AC powered devices
  • Comes in rugged, stainless-steel enclosure
  • Has a liquid-tight conduit
  • Saves time, money, and manpower

What is TAPS?

TAPS is an acronym that stands for Trailer Auxiliary Power System. This system is designed to provide AC power inside the trailer while the vehicle is in transit. This AC power can be used to charge electric pallet jacks in-between stops to ensure they have adequate power to function during hours of operation.

How do I know if the TAPS unit is on and working?

The front cover of the TAPS is equipped with an easy-to-interpret status LED that provides the operation status.

How do I know if there is power at the AC receptacle at the back of the trailer?

The AC receptacle is equipped with a status LED that shows the operator if power is present.

The AC receptacle is equipped with a status LED that shows the operator if power is present.

The TAPS system can be installed on a straight truck application, and Purkeys offers a kit specifically for this. Visit http://purkeys.net/taps/ for further details.

Do I have to manually shut the TAPS system off when not in use to keep from draining my truck batteries?

No. The TAPS system utilizes an inverter equipped with DynaBalance technology. This technology maintains a balance between the vehicle’s electrical system and the driver’s power needs. It does this by providing a programmable Low Voltage Disconnect.

Can I use my TAPS system to operate other devices as well as charging my electric pallet jack?

Yes. The TAPS system can run multiple devices including: electric pallet jacks, syrup pump compressors, computers, printers, power tools, and trailer interior lighting.

Can I install a TAPS system in a refrigerated trailer?

Yes. A key feature of the TAPS system is that it is built inside a rugged stainless steel enclosure to protect it from the moisture that occurs in reefer applications. As long as the internal components are not removed from the enclosure, it is safe to use in reefer applications.
