Larry Rambeaux

Larry Rambeaux
Sales Application Engineer

When asked how he got started in the industry, Larry says it was an accident! However, it was a happy accident, and Larry has been contentedly working at Purkeys for 28 years. It all started when he stopped by Purkeys one day simply to see a friend and ended up accepting a job.

Larry has done everything from tearing down and rebuilding starters and alternators, to basic product delivery, managing a store location, and managing sales accounts. As he has learned and grown in the trucking industry, Larry began attending TMC and has become an important part of that organization. In 2013 he received TMC’s Recognized Associate Award, and in 2019 he was awarded the Silver Spark Plug award.

Helping fleets resolve issues is Larry’s favorite thing to do. He loves it when he is able to provide an existing solution to an electrical issue or help create an all-new solution.

In his free time, Larry loves to work on cars. His first memory of working on a car was when he was a small child and his dad set him up on the fender of a 1969 Chevy Kingswood to help change the spark plugs. Larry has been working on and restoring cars ever since!

When Larry was a junior in high school, his dad bought a 1970 Chevelle that Larry helped him restore. That has been Larry’s very favorite car project. His dream project is to build an AC Cobra.

Larry also loves to barbeque, and he loves an excuse for a big cookout. That’s why he loves the 4th of July; it gives him a chance to blow stuff up as well as break out the grill!
